An outdoor screen in direct sunlight needs between 5,500 and 7,500 nits. In permanent shade or under a roof, 4,500 is enough. More brightness than needed increases power consumption and heat without improving the image. The brightness sensor adjusts the output by time of day and extends LED life. (EXAMPLE ARTICLE)
